• CDPAP Program

  Serenity Care Agency is an intermediary for CDPAP. We do not administer the program. We can help you navigate it, but application and enrollment must go through your Local Department of Social Services or Medicaid plan.

  The advantage of the CDPAP is that the consumer, or a “Designated Representative” acting on their behalf, takes on full responsibility for hiring, training, supervising, and terminating the employment of individuals providing the services.

Home Health Aide

A Home Health Aide is an unlicensed individual who has successfully completed a NYSDOH/NYSED-approved HHATP to become a certified aide and has been entered into the Home Care Worker Registry. HHAs typically provide care under the supervision of a registered nurse or another healthcare professional. HHAs typically support older adults and individuals who may be recovering from illness, surgery or managing chronic conditions and require help completing specific daily tasks. HHAs often work in a patient’s home, hospice facility, or assisted living environment. HHAs can perform clinical care duties, such as checking the patient’s blood pressure, but often help with basic daily activities and routines, like bathing, dressing, and moving around the home. HHAs may be trained to assist in additional medical tasks like changing dressings, catheter care, and monitoring health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals

Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP)

The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a statewide Medicaid program that provides an alternative way of receiving home care services, where the consumer has more control over who provides their care and how it is provided. Under the Consumer Directed Program, you employ the Personal Assistant of your choice and direct what type of care you need. You have the freedom and flexibility to use your approved hours for any schedule of service you require to meet your needs. Serenity Care Agency will handle the payroll to your Personal Assistant and the billing to your Managed Care Plan, leaving you free to direct the care you need from who you choose, when you choose.
